Large-scale, hand-painted renditions of flowers such as passion flower and sweet pea are loosely arranged along the rim, encircled by a delicate brown-painted double band. Each piece in the design carries its own floral composition.

Every de Gournay piece is shaped, painted and gilded entirely by hand at the brand's porcelain studio in Jingdezhen, China, the historic centre of porcelain making for over a thousand years. No transfers, decals or mechanical shortcuts are used, so the hand of the maker remains quietly visible: faint turning marks, gentle variations in brushwork, even an occasional thumbprint inside a moulded form. These are not flaws but signatures of true craftsmanship, giving every piece its own character.

Made to order: This piece can be fully or partially customised, from rim colours and colourway to the omission of parts of the design or the addition of monograms, armorials or personalised motifs, with a choice of Blanc de Chine, Pearl or Celadon glaze in a smooth or orange-peel finish.
