Pseudo Tobacco Leaf Pink & Green 11 Inch Dinner Plate

Typical of 18th-century Chinese Export porcelain from the early Qianlong period, de Gournay's Pseudo Tobacco Leaf design features flamboyant decoration of stylised pomegranates and hibiscus blooms entwined with saw-edged leafy tendrils. A vivid reimagining of the original antique, it is a favourite both then and now, and lends itself beautifully to de Gournay's bespoke approach to pattern and colour.

This piece is painted in a pink and green colourway.

Every de Gournay piece is shaped, painted and gilded entirely by hand at the brand's porcelain studio in Jingdezhen, China, the historic centre of porcelain making for over a thousand years. No transfers, decals or mechanical shortcuts are used, so the hand of the maker remains quietly visible: faint turning marks, gentle variations in brushwork, even an occasional thumbprint inside a moulded form. These are not flaws but signatures of true craftsmanship, giving every piece its own character.

Made to order: This piece can be fully or partially customised, from rim colours and colourway to the omission of parts of the design or the addition of monograms, armorials or personalised motifs, with a choice of Blanc de Chine, Pearl or Celadon glaze in a smooth or orange-peel finish. Made-to-order pieces typically take 10–12 weeks from confirmation; full services may take longer. Contact us to begin a commission.
